The second annual Rock Solid Marathon & Half Marathon (RSM) took place on Saturday, February 28, 2026 in Coupeville, Washington on Whidbey Island. Both races featured an unforgettable course with winding coastal roads and scenic trails. The races started and finished before a rowdy crowd of spectators and volunteers on a sunny and crisp winter day at the historic Captain Whidbey Inn, a beautiful wooden lodge on Penn Cove that dates to 1907. About sixty runners started along scenic Madrona Way into the heart of Coupeville, across the island over to the rugged beauty of Ebey's Landing, and through the Kettles Trail System's windy paths. New course records were set in both the marathon and half marathon and many runners completed their first of each of the respective races. The Captain Whidbey was sold out—stories were told and awards handed out at an unforgettable celebratory dinner that Saturday evening. All profits from the RSM event were donated to The Rock Solid Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity.
